On The Affiliate Brink

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

There was a happy ending to this poor guy’s dilemma in what is one of the most incredible videos I’ve ever witnessed.  Suicide aside, with the recent cuts in their affiliate force by the eBay Partner Network, BANS users must feel like at any minute they could be swept over the affiliate-brink. Especially if a good chunk of their income is dependent on EPN. I realize PepperJam is a fall back position for BANS users, but it still looks precarious at best and not an affiliate-ledge I’d like to be perched for any length of time waiting to be rescued.

Digging for Content

Even the best bloggers have to dig for content.  Many of the newsletters I receive from the most well known bloggers out there today rehash old topics. That’s OK with me. I need to re-read some of these well-trodden subjects.

The point is that content doesn’t always have to be brand-spanking-new to be valuable. Old content on important topics can be recycled to tie into a new product or a new service. Re-inventing the wheel everyday in the form of new content might not be necessary if the objective can be hit with the old content.

Content Themes for Blog

Choosing a Blog ThemeThrusting my flag into the ground and staking claim to a few “homestead” themes for Affiliate Ground Zero is challenging. Creating a writing habit is one thing but creating a writing habit that has a point and adds value to visitors is another.

Mission accomplished in regards to creating a writing habit. This is my 31st straight day posting a blog entry. Like any new habit, it can be broken easier than it was created. If my new writing habit is to continue it needs focus and direction. With that in mind this short post is dedicated to exploring three possible blog themes.

Using YouTube Videos to Learn

One of the nice things about the rise in popularity of video sites like YouTube are the amount of instructional videos on all sorts of topics. Many days while processing eBay orders I’ll type in a topic such as “search engine optimization” (SEO) on YouTube, select a video and listen while I work.

I try and stick with people whose SEO reputations are established such as Aaron Wall from SEOBook but there are a ton of people to choose from and try out. It’s a piece of cake to do and a great way to take advantage of my time. There are some great Build a Niche Store videos produced by Mark over at The Niche Store Builder. And of coarse I have all sorts of audio and videos to choose from on Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind site now that I am a member.

The Face of Authority Content

The Face of Authority Content

What does the face of authority content look like?

Is it conversational in style inviting readers to join in or commanding  in tone with little concern of outside reader opinion? Must it be instructional in format and purpose?

Can authority content be inspirational, sad or funny with no other purpose than to elicit emotion? What about content that asks questions generating new thoughts and ideas from overworked topics? Can it ever be considered the face of authority content?

Of course it can. The faces of content burned with the brand of authority are limitless.

Affiliate Marketers Beware!

Chard Found In My Bowl Of Ice Cream

This is how you know when you are finally gaining traction as an Affiliate Marketer. Spy’s from all over will world will do their best to rub you out!

I’m trusting no one. A couple of nights ago after finishing up another blog post I sit down to watch an episode of Seinfeld for the millionth time. My wife dishes up a couple of bowls of “Cookies ‘n’ Cream” ice cream for us to enjoy.

I let my ice cream melt for my phobia-induced allotted time and carefully dunk my teaspoon into just the right “Cookie” spot of ice cream.

Poking up out of the middle of a cookie is what appears to be a “cream” ice burg. I think nothing of this little anomaly at first. It’s actually a pleasant surprise.

The Power of Blog Commenting

Up until the last couple of weeks I have not left more than a handful of comments on blogs in all my years browsing the web. Call me anti-social but I wasn’t interested in striking up conversations with people I didn’t know. Recently though I have changed that attitude and am finding that posting comments is a good thing for all parties concerned.

First off, its feels good letting fellow-bloggers know I appreciate their work. Many of these denizens of the dark, stay up until the wee hours of the morning hammering away on their keyboards. It’s not like most bloggers become millionaires writing blog posts. Bloggers write to express their ideas to whomever will read them and to further their dream of creating a purposeful life. I’m sure some bloggers do very well financially, but most are community-focused people who enjoy helping others by posting articles designed to educated readers in a particular niche.

Should I Read that eBook Review?

Sales Pitch Defense RoutineI received another email this morning asking me to read a review touting the benefits of an eBook I’m sure is loaded with true value. While going through my SPDR (Sales Pitch Defense Routine) I thought it might help some other “opportunity addicts” stop pushing the stuck on stupid button like I use to do.

Actually I haven’t fared too bad in the “sucker” column when it comes to purchasing online products. Yes I have purchased my share, but I have read absolute horror stories of online opportunity addicts going through their cash like it was water going over Niagara Falls.

Keep Them “Dowgies” Rolling RAWHIDE!

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

Someday I envision a blog full of stellar “Pillar Content” feeding my readers daily with incredible mind-numbingly brilliant articles. Content helping them love the written word and all the processes that lead to its publication through fearless and mostly “sane” self expression. I envision exciting “Pillar Content” written through the prism of a wide angled lens attracting all kinds of bloggers interested in learning the fine art of online content publication.

I’ll leave that vision’s reality into the safe hands of the Law of Attraction and stay busy cranking out consistent content with what I know right now.

These Guys Are Good!

I’m doing my daily homework from Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind course. Since I finished my second lesson ahead of time Yaro made me “Chief Mastermind” and moved me to the head of the class. Then he gave me special access to loads of other content created specifically to teach great blogging techniques.

Dream on Mark!

Every Blog Mastermind student under Yaro’s tutelage, has at their fingertips a plethora (forgive me, I was dying to use a big word) of “to-die-for” blog content resources. Today I downloaded a 54 minute MP3 file from Yaro’s Audio section entitled;
