Review of Firefox Scrapbook Plugin

Firefox Scrapbook ExtensionFirefox is without a doubt my favorite Web Browser. The open source nature of Firefox gives coders from all over the world the ability to create hundreds of Firefox Add-ons.  One Firefox extension with practical application for the production of web-based content is the “Scrapbook” extension.

The simple tag line promoting Scrapbook states, “Helps you to save Web pages and organize the collection” but the Scrapbook extension for Firefox does so much more.

Yes you can replace your normal HTML bookmarks with Scrapbook bookmarks.

Scrapbook allows you to organize web pages and page snippets in a typical folder structure with categories and sub-categories.Firefox Scrapbook Extension

Search your Scrapbook bookmarks any of the following ways;

Where Scrapbook really shines is in its note taking features.

I’ve been using Scrapbook well over a year now for research. I create a folder on a topic I want to research and start browsing. When I discover a web page that merits my full attention I make it a point to take notes.  Now I’ve not only saved a link for future reference, I’ve also saved my first impressions of that web page.

With Scrapbook it’s like having a pad, pencil and set of colored markers with you whenever you’re browsing the Internet.  It’s pretty slick!

Scrapbook has all kinds of other features that make it a must have add-on to any Firefox user.

If your looking for a full featured tool that helps you take and organize and notes while browsing the Internet. Scrapbook might be just the tool you’ve been looking for. It was for me.
