Small Affiliate Marketing Successes

RV Adventure Web GraphWhen you are starting from Affiliate Ground Zero it’s a good practice to pat yourself on the back every chance you get, even for the teency-weenciest, of successes.

If you’re anything like me and enjoying the type of affiliate marketing success I am, this is where you might ask that mystical affiliate question,

“What is affiliate marketing success anyway?”

When I enter the “Hunter-gatherer” mode and start searching for a crumb of affiliate marketing success within my vast empire of web domains, the financial reports section on the eBay Partner Network is the last place I look. Those financial graphs in my EPN account look more like a scene out of one of my favorite sci-fi movies “Flatliners”.

It’s tough sledding in the beginning of any new venture but with affiliate marketing there is a huge leap of faith before the smallest of successes start to appear. Self doubt and just plain old lack of knowledge and expertise are constant companions and often cloud over the little affiliate marketing successes more experienced and successful affiliate marketers have long since take for granted.

Yesterday I discovered one of those teency-weency successes and it took me by surprise. I started a blog on one of my Build a Niche Store sites called RV Facts Online on April 29th of this year.

Since I started my RV Adventures blog I have posted a whopping grand total of 13 blog entries in 3 months. Not exactly Mr. Blogging Consistency I know and certainly I have broken the 5th Content Commandment decreed yesterday by King Content.

Yet with only 13 blog posts over the span of 90 days, I have started to receive, what for me, is fairly steady web traffic tricking in from search engines.

One blogging tip I can share with other affiliate marketing newbies is that images, with descriptions in their anchor text resonate well with search engines. A nifty little tool helping me to bring in search engine traffic is the Wordpress PhotoDropper plugin.

PhotoDropper Wordpress PluginLookie here at recent keyword activity on my RV Adventures blog. A good chunk of this web traffic is a direct result of search engine results produced by images like this one of a Class A Motorhome I created using the Wordpress PhotoDropper Plugin.

Another chunk of traffic is coming from a bit of keyword research I did on Nichebot for the term “custom RV Paint”.

Hey, like I said these are small success but I’ll take “um” and wack myself hard on the back for the 13 posts I DID write in 3 months that produced the 218 unique visitors to my new blog so far in July.

And yesterday I had 58 unique vistors and two comments from an RV Custom Painting Company. The guy was nice enough to correct one of my blog posts with some good information and told me I could email him for some photos of his custom painted RVs. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Affiliate marketing successes abound, but sometimes you have to stop looking at your financial reports to find them. If I can find them so can you.
